Making home-made flavored coffee beans.
QUESTION:
Does anyone have a recipe to flavor coffee beans or fresh ground coffee before using it in brewing? All the recipes so far are to make an actual drink or have no measurements for the ingredients. We are looking to try to flavor our own freshly ground beans. We would prefer to use raw ingredients like vanilla bean, cinnamon sticks, cocoa, or their ground equivalents rather than a syrup, if possible.
ANSWER:
You make a good point about figuring out the quantity of flavoring required. I haven't seen information on that. I guess if it were me I would simply start off by experimenting until I found the proportion of ground coffee to flavoring that gave just the right taste.
For some more information, we do have a page on flavored coffee. And another page about natural flavors for coffee.
