 the mysterious silver layer with my coffee

i use a four small four cup coffee maker, use diffrent kinds of ground coffee, use the white coffee filters, and i use purified drinking water with flavor enhancing minerals from Walmart.
after the coffee cools is when i notice the siliver yucky layer on top of my coffee. while coffee is hot you don't see it. I don't know.
